WomEng invites high school girls between 14 – 18 years old from across South Africa, Botswana and Namibia to our online flash mentoring sessions. Engage with engineering professionals to learn more about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This event is in partnership with De Beers Group, Debmarine Namdeb Foundation and Debswana.
Attendance is restricted to one session per person. You will be asked within the RSVP form to confirm your first and second option for the date you would like to attend the event.
The WomEng Ask An Engineer Virtual Series provides girls with an opportunity to engage online with professionals in engineering and technology. In this series, three (3) sessions will be hosted across April and May 2021 with various engineering and technology professionals from South Africa, Namibia and Botswana in each session sharing their career journeys and answering burning questions from high school girls. Each session includes 4 – 5 engineering and technology professionals from various disciplines. Participants are required to attend only one (1) of the sessions. Participation in the Ask An Engineer Virtual Series will provide the opportunity for participants to join our GirlEng Community WhatsApp Group to continue the conversation and engage with other girls interested in engineering and technology.
Sessions will be hosted on Zoom (https://zoom.us/), an online video conferencing platform. Beneficiaries should have access at minimum to a smart phone that supports video conferencing. Support for data costs can be provided by WomEng.
