Success Stories

Our beneficiaries include girls and women at all pivotal stages of development from the girl child to leading career women with diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Here are some of our success stories...

Marina Ferreira

This program should continue inspiring and motivating girls around the globe. It is very admirable to realize people are working to improve opportunities for women in the (engineering) market and that it is a legitimate concern for companies such as Williams Martini Racing and Unilver! “ – Marina Ferreira, WomEng Brazil Fellow, Chemical Engineering student at State University of Campinas

Akosua Boadu

Fellowship taught me valuable networking skills that prepared me for the working world. Being there made me realize that I too wanted to be a part of the bigger picture and do the things that really matter.” - Akosua Boadu, Qualified civil engineer, 2013 WomEng Fellow, 2013-2014 GirlEng Mentor, 2016 WomEng Provincial Coordinator

Louandra Arjanun

As the first in my family to embark on an engineering (or any) degree, speaking to women in the midst of their degrees and qualified engineers in industry was an experience I would never have had, were it not for GirlEng. More importantly, during the mentoring portion of the program, I connected with an aeronautical engineer from Denel Dynamics, Jenisha Naidoo, who two years into my degree assisted me in getting a vacation work post at Denel Dynamics. And through my vacation work experience at Denel, I obtained a bursary and eventually an internship/job which I will start on completion of my degree.” - Louandra Arjanun, aeronautical engineering, attended GirlEng Information Session 2012. Selected as a WomEng Fellow 2016
